More Companies See Agile as a Valid Business Solution - State of Scrum Report Released

Scrum Alliance has announced the release of its 2015 State of Scrum Report. Almost 5,000 individuals and companies worldwide participated in this year's survey.  Most organizations in the market today are still leading and managing under an Industrial Age model.  Not only is the speed of change growing exponentially, Agile and Scrum frameworks are showing companies how to draw on the full talents and capabilities of those doing the work in order to continue innovating for success.

"Survey findings show where Scrum is today and where it is likely headed," said Scrum Alliance CEO Manny Gonzalez. "It's very exciting for us at Scrum Alliance to see these results. They indicate to us that we're on the right path to Transforming the World of Work® as an organization and that Agile and Scrum practices are playing a significant role in that transformation."

This industry report is based on input from almost 5,000 business professionals in 108 countries, representing more than a dozen industries.

Key findings from the report include the observation that Scrum is growing rapidly, not only in software development but in industries well beyond software. The responses also indicate Scrum is positioned to help businesses tailor their efforts to the "Age of the Customer." The report reveals the leading reason organizations are using Scrum is to deliver business value to their customers.

The data also provide intriguing insights into the role of certifications, the success of and Scrum across different industries and functional areas around the world, and the variables that most strongly impact Scrum.

"The State of Scrum Report is our global study that looks at who is using Agile and Scrum and how they are practicing these frameworks. It provides valuable statistics and outlooks for us as we plan and deliver new products to our members in the community," Gonzalez said.
